Route 22 Rehabilitation Set to Begin
Hollidaysburg – Beginning Monday, March 21 prime contractor, New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc. of Bedford County will start work on the rehabilitation of Route 22 at the Cross Keys Intersection of Route 764 and Interstate 99 in Allegheny Township, Blair County.
The rehabilitation will include concrete patching, resurfacing, shoulder and guiderail upgrades and drainage adjustments to the roadway. In addition, preservation of four structures will be included in this project. That work will include sub-structure repairs, sealing and painting of the four bridges.
Traffic control from March 21 through March 25 will consist of short term, temporary lane closures. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during daylight hours. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling through the work zone.
This $8.5 million project is expected to be completed by mid-January 2013.

UPDATE 6/3/2011
Beginning Monday, June 6 prime contractor New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc. of Bedford County will change the current traffic patterns in Allegheny Township, Blair County to the Gallitizin Exit at the Blair/Cambria County line so paving operations can take place over the next two weeks.
Beginning June 6, the contractor will switch traffic in the westbound lanes. This work should take approximately one week to complete. Paving operations will take place between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. If needed, work will also take place on Saturday. Once work on the westbound lanes has been completed the contractor will pave the eastbound lanes. This work is tentatively scheduled for the week of June 10.
Motorists should expect minor delays and are urged to use caution while traveling though the work zone.
Overall work on this project consists of concrete patching, bituminous overlay, guiderail and drainage upgrades, emergency crossover upgrades and the rehabilitation of six structures.
This $13.9 million project is expected to be completed by November, 2011.

The Route 22 ramp, that conveys I-99 Northbound traffic to US 22 Westbound, that has been detoured since April 16 was lifted as of 10:30 p.m. last night. Minor delays may still occur under daylight flagging as finishing work takes place.
Overall work on this project consists of concrete pavement restoration and roadway resurfacing. Also included in this project will be upgrades to guide rail, median barrier, signs and bridge preservation work on one bridge carrying the ramp over Interstate 99 and two bridges carrying ramps over Route 1002 (Municipal Drive) in Allegheny Township, Blair County. This project also includes bridge preservation work on a bridge carrying the ramp over Interstate 99 at the East Freedom Exit in Freedom Township, Blair County.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc. of New Enterprise, is the contractor on this $7 million project that is expected to be completed by mid-January 2013.
