New Route 214 Loganville Connector Open to Traffic

The new Route 214 Loganville Connector opened to traffic at about midday on Monday, October 5th. This nearly $6.7-million project built for PennDOT by Kinsley Construction, Inc. of York, Pennsylvania has been underway since spring 2008. This is a new road measuring a little more than two miles in length that realigns a portion of Route 214 from west of downtown Loganville Borough to the north of Loganville. It is now easier for residents in this area to access Interstate 83 Exit 10. A new traffic signal at the intersection of Route 214 and Susquehanna Trail was also put into operation about midday on Monday.

Though the new road has been opened to traffic, the contractor has until mid-December to finish the project. There still remains some paving to be completed, the installation of curb cut ramps at intersections, monitoring and adjustments to the new traffic signal, etc. The contractor anticipates finishing the entire project ahead of schedule.

Route 214 east of the Susquehanna Trail remains in its original alignment.
