Weather permitting, on Tuesday, July 2, both the on and off-ramps at Interstate 81 South, Exit 190 (Main Ave) will open. On Tuesday morning, after the ramps are open, crews will begin the next phase of the operation, working on the inside lanes. Throughout this second phase, all ramps will remain open. This phase is expected to be complete in the fall of 2013. After the middle lanes are complete, crews will then begin work on phase three. During this final phase, the northbound on-ramp (the ramp from Main Avenue to I-81 North) will be closed; the northbound off-ramp (from I-81 to Main Ave) will remain open. Work will remain in this phase from fall of 2013 to the summer of 2014, when the project is scheduled to be complete.
