Lane Shifts Start Tomorrow on Route 35 Bridge Job
Mifflintown – PennDOT advises area drivers of lane shifts starting tomorrow afternoon, July 26, on Route 35 in the village of Mifflin.
Traffic travelling on Route 35 near the railroad bridge in Mifflin will be required to make lane shifts, starting Thursday afternoon. Traffic will be shifted to allow for the realignment of Route 35 to the new railroad bridge. The detour for Route 333 (Mowery Street) will be removed at this time as well.
This work is part of the Route 35 Juniata River bridge project. The project began in summer 2011 and will complete in 2013. Work includes a new traffic bridge on a re-aligned Route 35, a new bridge over the railroad, a new pedestrian bridge in the location of the current traffic bridge, a roundabout at the intersection of Routes 3002 and 35, and improvements to the Route 3002/3005 intersection. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc. is the contractor on this $16 million job.
