Route 872 Project Underway this Week in Potter and Cameron Counties
Coudersport – On behalf of Governor Tom Corbett, PennDOT today announced that work to improve Route 872 in Potter and Cameron counties gets underway this week. When work completes later this year, area drivers will enjoy smoother, more efficient travel through this rural area.
The project area stretches from just south of the Cameron County line and continues into Wharton Township/Potter County for about five miles. Crews will be working this week to set signs and then begin physical work the week of May 20.
Construction activity will include roadway milling and paving, drainage improvements, guide rail updates, bridge deck repairs, and miscellaneous items. Drivers should remain alert for flaggers in the roadway, with short travel delays possible.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. PennDOT expects the project to be finished by October. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor for this $4.1 million job.
Drivers are reminded to move through all construction zones with caution, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
