Southbound I-79 Neville Island Bridge Sealing Saturday

PennDOT District 11 is announcing work to apply protective sealants on the I-79 Neville Island Bridge in Neville Township and Glenfield Borough, Allegheny County, will occur on Saturday, May 12 weather permitting.
Work will occur at this time on the southbound bridge from the Deer Run Road on-ramp to mid-way across the structure. The ramp will remain open. The left lane and shoulder will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Crews will also be working on the ramp from northbound I-79 to Neville Island (Exit 65). The ramp will remain open with traffic shifted around the work area from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Motorists are advised to use caution, expect changing traffic patterns and possible delays.
The work is part of an overall project that started in 2009 to improve the I-79 Neville Island Bridge-Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard) interchange (Exit 66) and approaching roadways. The prime contractor for the project is Swank Associated Companies, Inc. of New Kensington PA.
