Traffic Pattern Changes on the State Route 268/State Route 1038 Intersection Project in Armstrong County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that traffic pattern changes will be in place today on the State Route (SR) 268/SR 1038 (Butler Road) intersection.
Beginning today, Tuesday, July 5, the contractor will begin changing the paint lines on the intersection of SR 268 and SR 1038 and a new temporary traffic signal will control movements through the intersection. Northern Avenue remains closed. Nixon Avenue will have a new temporary realigned entrance and exit for the remainder of the project.
Other work includes the installation of a soldier beam and lagging wall shoring on the SR 268/SR 1038 intersection and sewer realignment on Nixon Avenue.
The intersection realignment and upgrade project will convert the multi-leg intersection located at SR 268 and SR 1038 (Butler Road) into a T-intersection. The project will include the removal of two box culverts and installation of a new box culvert over Whiskey Run, stream realignment, traffic signal installation, sanitary sewer relocation, and other construction at the intersection.
This $2,551,268 intersection project has been awarded to Plum Contracting of Greensburg, Westmoreland County, and is expected to be completed in mid-November.
