WORK TO BEGIN ON CLARK STREET BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 announces that work will begin Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, on the Clark Street Bridge replacement project in Brockway Borough, Jefferson County.

Traffic will be reduced to single lane use while the bridge, which carries Route 219 over Little Toby Creek, is replaced in phases. A temporary traffic signal will be placed at the ends of the bridge to control traffic during construction. Minimal delays should be anticipated.

A 10-foot width restriction will be in effect throughout the course of the project. Since traffic will be maintained on the bridge, an official detour will not be posted, but signing has been placed for over-wide vehicles and motorists desiring to take an alternate route.

Prime contractor for the $2.25 million project is Clearwater Construction Inc. of Mercer. Work is scheduled to be completed in October.

PennDOT asks that motorists use caution and patience and remember that work zone safety is everyone's responsibility.
