Nearly $1 million in improvements
Indiana County, PA – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is pleased to announce that construction bids for the Route 1041 Rochester Mills Bridge replacement project in Grant and Canoe Townships, Indiana County, were opened April 6, 2006 in Harrisburg.
The apparent low bidder for the project is the J.F Shea Construction Company Inc. of Mount Pleasant, PA, with a bid amount of $919,878. Six bids were received for the project.
The bids, opened in Harrisburg, will be reviewed to ensure all necessary specifications are met.
Then, the contract itself will be awarded to the low bidder who adequately meets those specifications.
Construction is expected to begin, weather permitting, six-to-eight weeks after the bid opening. The project is expected to take three months year to construct.
The Rochester Mills Bridge carries Route 1041 (Richmond Road) over the Little Mahoning Creek in Grant and Canoe Townships, Indiana County. The decision was made on January 24, 2006 to restrict traffic on the bridge as a precautionary measure by PennDOT Engineers when they discovered deterioration to a concrete fascia beam.
