LANE RESTRICTIONS PLANNED DUE TO ROADWORK ON SR 228 NEAR SEVEN FIELDS IN BUTLER COUNTY

Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that, as part of the Butler County surface improvement program, State Route (SR) 228 will have one-lane traffic restrictions due to paving of 1.7 miles of roadway from a location near the intersection of SR 3021 (Franklin Road in Cranberry Township) to a location near the intersection of SR 3017 (Crider Road in Adams Township) in Butler County. This work will include the milling of roadway and shoulder surfaces and addition of binder and wearing surfaces.

PennDOT awarded IA Construction of Zelienople, PA, this project. Work will begin on Monday, June 29, 2009, with anticipated completion date at the end of July, 2009. Alternating lane restrictions will be in place allowing one lane of traffic at a time controlled by flaggers.

Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop as necessary. They are also asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
