PENNDOT ANNOUNCES ROUTE 28 NORTHBOUND LANE CLOSURE MONDAY

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane
Butler County, PA (March 31) - PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that traffic on northbound Route 28 will be reduced to a single lane beginning on Monday, April 4, 2005, in the Route 28 Allegheny Valley Expressway 3R (reconstruction, rehabilitation and resurfacing) project work zone in Buffalo Township, Butler County. This lane restriction will occur through July.
Motorists should expect possible delays and changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. PennDOT asks that motorists use caution and patience and remember that work zone safety is everyone?s responsibility.
The $2.55 million project will improve 2 miles of Route 28 from the Butler/Allegheny County line north. The ramps at the Route 356 interchange will also be resurfaced as part of this project. Construction is expected to conclude, weather permitting, in July.
The prime contractor for the project is the IA Construction Corporation of Concordville, PA.
