Large pipe will be replaced
Armstrong County, PA (Sept. 15) ? PennDOT Engineering District 10 is announcing that Route 85 in Cowanshannock Township, Armstrong County, will be closed to through traffic from 3 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, weather permitting.
Crews will be replacing a large pipe under Route 85. Signs will be posted to guide motorists around the closed section of roadway. The official detour for westbound traffic will be Route 954 (Indiana County) to Route 4021 (Smicksburg Road) to Route 4022 (Dayton Road) into Armstrong County using Route 1022 (East Mahoning Church Road) to Route 839 back to Route 85. Eastbound traffic will follow the same detour in the opposite direction.
The pipe replacement is being performed as part of a surface improvement contract for Indiana County. The prime contractor for the project is HRI Inc., of State College, PA.
