BEAM SETTING WORK EXTENDED AT MITCHELL HILL OVERPASS PROJECT

BEAM SETTING WORK EXTENDED AT MITCHELL HILL OVERPASS PROJECT

Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 advises motorists to anticipate significant nighttime delays on Route 422 at the Mitchell Hill Overpass Replacement Project in Summit Township, Butler County, from 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17 to 6 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007.

Traffic through the project area will be stopped for 15-minute intervals or longer to allow crews to set the beams on the new Mitchell Hill Overpass, which will carry Route 2006 (Mitchell Hill Road) over Route 422. Beam setting work was scheduled to be complete by 6 a.m. May 17 but has been extended due to weather.

Motorists are advised to slow down and exercise extra caution when approaching the area. Motorists can use Route 68, Route 1011 (Grant Avenue) through East Butler and Bonniebrook Road to avoid delays.

The prime contractor for the $2.25 million replacement project is J.F. Shea Construction Inc. of Mt. Pleasant. Construction is scheduled to be complete in June.
