(State Route 228/I-79 Southbound Ramp in Cranberry Twp, Butler County)
Indiana, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announces an upcoming public meeting for the Route 228/I-79 Southbound Ramp Project in Cranberry Township, Butler County.
The meeting will be held as follows:
DATE: Wednesday, September 30, 2009
LOCATION: Seven Fields
Community Center
380 Castle Creek Drive
Seven Fields, PA 16046
TIME: Open House: Any time between 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm
The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the project, share the results of current environmental and engineering studies, provide an anticipated schedule and gather public input related to the project. Meeting attendees will have an opportunity to review project displays and to participate in one-on-one discussions with the project team. Anyone with knowledge of historic resources in the project area should attend this meeting.
The project includes a new southbound loop on-ramp and relocation of the existing southbound off-ramp from I-79 south in Cranberry Township. The purpose of this project is to allow motorists traveling west on Route 228 to access I-79 southbound by making a right turn as opposed to the current situation which requires a left turn. This will result in less congestion along Route 228.
Anyone with special needs, or requiring assistance, should contact Jamie Barger, of McCormick Taylor, Inc., at (412) 922-6880 one week prior to the open house. |
