BIDS OPENED FOR BRIDGE PRESERVATION ON INTERSTATE 79

Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 announces that construction bids were recently opened for an Interstate 79 bridge preservation contract in Butler County.

The apparent low bidder for the project was Thornbury Inc. of West Sunbury with a bid of $373,311.50. Five bids were received for the project. Work will include pedestal repairs and expansion dam replacements on the northbound and southbound structures that carry I-79 over the northbound on-ramp near Zelienople and on the northbound and southbound structures that carry the interstate over Pfeifer Road (T-338) in Muddy Creek Township.

The bids, opened in Harrisburg, will be reviewed to ensure all necessary specifications are met, and then the contract itself will be awarded to the low bidder who adequately meets those specifications.
