Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that construction work on the State Route (SR) 217/SR 3009 (Newport Road) intersection in Burrell Township, Indiana County, began June 29, 2009. The anticipated completion date for the project that will improve sight distance along SR 217 is the end of August, 2009.
Due to utility delays as part of this project, the detour planned for SR 3009 (Newport Road) has been postponed indefinitely.
Motorists are asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones.
This is a $352,159 project with work being performed by Quaker Sales Corporation.
