LANE TO REOPEN AT ALLEGHENY VALLEY EXPRESSWAY PROJECT

LANE TO REOPEN AT ALLEGHENY VALLEY EXPRESSWAY PROJECT

Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 announces that the southbound travel lane on Route 28 between the Route 128 and Route 422 interchanges will reopen at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 26. The lane had been closed since March 19 for concrete patching.

The northbound travel lane will continue to be closed. Traffic in that direction will use the left passing lane.

The work is part of a project involving the resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation (3R) of approximately 5.5 miles of Route 28 and associated ramps in North Buffalo and South Buffalo townships, Armstrong County. All four lanes of Route 28 within the project area will be repaved this summer.

PennDOT asks that motorists use caution and patience when traveling through the area and remember that work zone safety is everyone's responsibility.

Contractor for the $7.2 million project is Derry Construction Company of Latrobe. Work is scheduled to be complete in September.
