SR 217 Bridge Project Update

PennDOT updates the rehabilitation project on the State Route 217 bridge over Black Lick Creek in Black Lick and Burrell Townships in Indiana County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that the State Route (SR) 217 bridge over Black Lick Creek is expected to open to traffic by mid-October.
The SR 217 bridge over Black Lick Creek (also called the Flenniken or McCormick Bridge) has been closed for rehabilitation and was expected to reopen to traffic in mid-September. Due to unexpected circumstances during construction, adjustments had to be made causing the expected opening to be changed. The bridge is expected to open to traffic by mid-October.
Once the detour has been lifted, daytime, flagger-controlled restrictions may be in place to perform work in the project area.
Motorists are advised to slow down, to use caution, and to be alert to changing conditions in the project area. Delays and congestion are possible.
For more information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, access PennDOT District 10’s website at www.dot.state.pa.us/district10.
