PENNDOT NAMES WILSON NOVEMBER'S EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Recognized for his dependability and excellent performance in his work
Indiana, PA - PennDOT Engineering District 10 has named Tim Wilson Employee of the Month for November.
Wilson, a Plumville resident, is a bridge inspection crane technician supervisor. Tom Knieriem, civil engineer manager-bridges, nominated Wilson for the Employee of the Month award.
"Tim has been carrying a heavy load for the District Bridge Unit since the spring of 2005," Knieriem said. "When he was hired in January 2005 as a bridge inspection crane operator, he took on all the responsibilities of a two-man team, including his supervisor's position."
During his time with PennDOT, Wilson has managed to continue providing service for Districts 1, 9, 10, 11 and 12 in the western half of the state. This has been extremely challenging, considering the operation requires the use of two pieces of equipment, namely the inspection crane and supporting Work Zone Traffic Control van, typically a two-man team.
In the spring, Nathan Miller was made Wilson's partner. Wilson trained Miller, orienting him with the very challenging, safety-sensitive responsibilities of a bridge inspection crane operator.
"Tim has worked long, hard hours over the past two years, sacrificing much of his own personal time to keep things going," said Knieriem. "Tim has been very dependable and takes pride in his work. He works well independently and is very good at making decisions on his own. Tim is a very skilled, experienced operator and is very knowledgeable of different types of equipment. He is also very personable and gets along with everyone he deals with.
"He has performed commendably and is eager to learn as much as he can about bridges and is continually improving himself through training at work and on his own time. Tim has been going the extra mile for some time now," said Knieriem.
Wilson lives with his wife, Cindy, and his four children: Elizabeth, 11; Micah, 9; Matthew, 7; and Erika, 5. He enjoys hunting, fishing and camping with his family.
Congratulations, Tim, and thank you for your commitment to your work and consistent dependability! |
