PENNDOT ANNOUNCES PINE CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT BIDS OPENED



Includes more than $1.9 million in improvements

Armstrong County, PA – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is pleased to announce that construction bids for the Route 28 Pine Creek Bridge replacement project in Rayburn and Valley Townships, Armstrong County, were opened February 2, 2006 in Harrisburg.

Three bids were received for the project that will construct a new bridge adjacent to the existing bridge.

The apparent low bidder for the project is the Francis J. Palo of Clarion PA, with a bid amount of $6,182,692.00

The bids, opened in Harrisburg, will be reviewed to ensure all necessary specifications are met; and then the contract itself will be awarded to the low bidder who adequately meets those specifications.

Construction is expected to begin, weather permitting, six-to-eight weeks after the bid opening. The project is expected to take one year to construct.
