Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that State Route (SR) 422 will have traffic delays and stoppage due to beams being set on the SR 4001 (Mercer Road) bridge project. On Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 20, 2009 between the hours of 8:00pm and 6:00 am, the existing one lane traffic will be stopped periodically in both the eastbound and west bound directions for 15 minutes allowing for the safe movement of beams in assembling the Mercer Road bridge.
Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop as necessary. They are also asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
