Work to begin on Dougherty’s Mills Bridge in Butler County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that work will begin on the Dougherty’s Mills Bridge replacement project the first week of April. The bridge is located on State Route (SR) 173 over Slippery Rock Creek in the Village of Dougherty’s Mills in Butler County.
The existing structure will be replaced with a two-lane, single span steel-girder with approach work, drainage, guide rail and other miscellaneous construction.
Beginning, Monday, April 4, 2011, the bridge will close and will remain closed until July.
A posted detour will be in place beginning at the intersection of SR 8 and SR 173 and will use SR 8 North to SR 108 West to SR 173 South at the intersection with SR 258. Local traffic will have access to SR 173, but through traffic will need to use the detour.
