PENNDOT ANNOUNCES END OF ROUTE 2001 DETOUR AFTER BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Detour ending
Armstrong County (September 26) - PennDOT Engineering District 10 is announcing the reopening Route 2001 (Power’s Crossroads Road) in Cowanshannock Township, Armstrong County.
The road, closed since July 10 to allow crews to replace a bridge over Cessna Run with a pre-cast concrete box culvert bridge, reopened at 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006.
The project, carried out by crews from PennDOT's Armstrong County Maintenance Office, was part of $39.7 million in bridge improvement and construction projects planned in District 10 for 2006.
Although the bridge has been opened to traffic, crews will return to the site to place guide rail. Motorists are reminded to stay alert and exercise caution when crews are on the scene.
