Southbound State Route 8 McBride Bridge Project opens to restricted traffic in Butler County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that the southbound State Route (SR) 8 McBride Bridge will open to restricted traffic on Monday, September 27, 2010. The project is located on SR 8 between Old Plank Road and Renfrew Road in Penn Township, Butler County.
The southbound SR 8 McBride Bridge is expected to open to restricted traffic by the end of Monday, September 27, 2010. New traffic lines need to be painted prior to the bridge opening. In case of inclement weather, the bridge will open to restricted traffic on Tuesday, September 28, 2010.
Southbound traffic will move from the temporary crossover to the travel lane on the new bridge. Northbound traffic will remain in the travel lane. The inner lanes of the bridge will remain closed to perform median work on SR 8 and to remove the temporary crossover. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in either direction until the completion of the work.
All four lanes are expected to open by mid-October.
Motorists are advised to turn on their headlights, slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones.
This is a $1.8 million project with work being completed by Mekis Construction Corp., of Fenelton, Butler County.
