Closure Necessary for Highway Railroad Grade Crossing Replacement
Jefferson County, PA (June 23) – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is announcing the temporary closure of Route 28 (Brockway Main Street) in Brockway Borough, Jefferson County, beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006, and ending at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2006.
The temporary closure will allow crews from the Buffalo and Pittsburgh Railroad Company to replace the highway railroad grade crossing and crews from Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA, to resurface the approaches to the crossing located on Route 28 in Brockway Borough.
Traffic will be detoured using Route 219 to Interstate 80 back to Route 28. Detour signs and message boards will be posted to mark the detour route. The official detour is approximately 40 miles.
PennDOT asks motorists to use caution and remember that work zone safety is everyone's responsibility.
