Detour necessary to construct new bridge
Armstrong County (May 17) – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that construction is expected to begin Monday, May 22, 2006 (weather permitting) on the Route 2025 Garrett’s Run Bridge #3 Replacement Project in Manor Township, Armstrong County.
The project will require the closure of Route 2025 beginning Monday, May 22, 2006 and will end on Friday, October 13, 2006. Traffic will be detoured around the project site using Route 2025 (Spring Church Road), Route 2012 (Silvis Hollow Road), Route 422, Route 4422 and Route 2011 (Old Route 66). Signs will be posted marking the official detour.
The $967,946.15 project will replace the existing steel, thru-girder bridge carrying Route 2025 over Garrett's Run with a new prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge. The new bridge will have two 11-foot wide lanes and two 5- foot wide shoulders. The project also includes the relocation of several overhead utility lines and poles, two underground utility lines and one private driveway.
The main contractor for the project is Clearwater Construction Company of Mercer, PA.
PennDOT asks that motorists use caution and patience and remember that work zone safety is everyone's responsibility.
