Construction expected in 2007
Indiana County, PA (October 17) ? PennDOT Engineering District 10 is announcing that a public plans display will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2005, for the Route 286 Hillsdale South 3R (restoration, rehabilitation and resurfacing) project in Grant, Green, and Montgomery townships, Indiana County. The plans display will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Purchase Line High School cafeteria on Route 286.
The overall project, designed to improve safety and mobility, will improve 2.5 miles of Route 286 from Route 1024 (Hemlock Road) east through Hillsdale to Rowley Cemetery Road (Township Road 548). The project will widen travel lanes to 11 feet with four foot shoulders, upgrade drainage and guide rail, and replace a box culvert.
Department representatives will be present to discuss details and answer questions about the project. Interested residents are encouraged to attend. Anyone with knowledge of historic resources in the project area, or comments on potential impacts to historic resources should also attend this meeting.
