Indiana - PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that core boring operations will be conducted on the travel lane of I-79 southbound between MM 90.4 and 93.6 in Lancaster and Muddy Creek Townships, Butler County. Work is planned to begin on Monday, March 1, 2010, and conclude on Wednesday, March 2, 2010. Cores boring samples are being taken to determine suitability of substructure in order to plan future construction projects.
During the time of this operation, a lane restriction will be in place for the travel lane of I-79 southbound. Motorists are advised to anticipate traffic delays and be prepared to stop. Motorists are asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
