PENNDOT ANNOUNCES CHANGING TRAFFIC PATTERNS ON ROUTES 8 AND 422 INTERCHANGE

Lanes shifting

Butler County, PA (August 16) – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that traffic patterns at the Route 8 and Route 422 interchange in Butler Township, Butler County, will be changed beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, August 18.

Traffic will be routed to the lanes normally reserved for northbound vehicles to allow crews to work on the southbound lanes of the bridge that carries Route 8 over Route 422. Temporary traffic signals and signs will be in place to direct traffic. Motorists are advised to be alert and use caution while approaching and driving through the area.

Two-way traffic will continue to use the southbound lanes on Route 8 until 9 p.m. Friday, August 18.

The $2.58 million emergency bridge project will replace the bridge's superstructure on its existing alignment and includes concrete repairs, paving and minor drainage and guide rail work. Estimated completion date is October 27. The contractor for the project is Mosites Construction Co. of Pittsburgh.
