PENNDOT ANNOUNCES WORK ON ROUTE 38

Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 announces that crews will begin work Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 to micro-surface a four-mile stretch of Route 38 in Venango and Allegheny townships, Butler County.

Traffic will be reduced to single lane, alternating use. Flag crews will direct traffic. Motorists are asked to slow down and exercise extra caution while traveling through work zones. Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, Aug. 24, weather permitting.

Micro-surfacing involves the placement of a thin layer of aggregate mixed with asphalt and cement. The work is being done to seal the surface and extend the life of the road.

The prime contractor for the $199,000 project is Suit-Kote Corp. of Cortland, N.Y.
