Weekend Closure on State Route 268 for work on State Route 268/State Route 1038 Intersection Project in Armstrong County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that a weekend closure will be in place on State Route (SR) 268 beginning Friday, May 20 through Monday, May 23 for roadwork.
Beginning, Friday, May 20, at 8 pm, SR 268 will close at the north leg of the SR 268/SR 1038 intersection towards East Brady until Monday, May 23 at 6 am.
The road will close for rebuilding the north leg of the intersection. The posted detour for SR 268 northbound traffic uses SR 422 towards Worthington to SR 3009 (Claypoole Road) to SR 4010 (Old Butler/Main Street) and back to SR 268 North. The posted detour for southbound SR 268 traffic uses SR 4010 (Old Butler/Main Street) towards Worthington to SR 3009 (Claypoole Road) to SR 422 and back to SR 268 South.
Also, Northern Avenue will close at the intersection with SR 268 and will remain closed until mid-November.
The intersection realignment and upgrade project will convert the multi-leg intersection located at SR 268 and SR 1038, (Butler Road) into a T-intersection. The project will include the removal of two box culverts and installation of a new box culvert over Whiskey Run, stream realignment, traffic signal installation, sanitary sewer relocation, and other construction at the intersection.
This $2,551,268 intersection project has been awarded to Plum Contracting of Greensburg, Westmoreland County, and is expected to be completed in mid-November.
