PENNDOT ANNOUNCES BRIDGE WORK ON I-80 AND I-79

Lane reductions expected

Butler and Clarion Counties, PA (August 21) – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is announcing maintenance work on three bridges along interstates 79 and 80 between Monday, September 11 and Tuesday, October 31, 2006.

Traffic on two bridges along Interstate 80 in Clarion County will be reduced to one lane in each direction to allow crews to put down a seal coating of epoxy with aggregate overlay. The bridges, which carry the interstate over the Allegheny and Clarion rivers, are located 1.2 miles west of the Route 478 exit in Richland Township and 1.1 miles west of the Route 68 exit in Paint Township.

Traffic will also be reduced to single-lane use in each direction on a bridge along Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, approximately 1.2 miles south of the Route 488 overpass. The lane reductions will allow crews to repave the bridge.

The contractor for the $1.4 million project is Mosites Construction Company of Pittsburgh. Motorists are asked to use caution, stay alert and be patient when traveling through work zones.
