State Route 119 Punxsutawney Bridge replacement project open to traffic in Jefferson County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that the new State Route (SR) 119 Punxsutawney Bridge over Mahoning Creek is open to unrestricted traffic in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.
Work will continue on this project. Motorists should expect daytime, flagger controlled restrictions for paving and other work for the duration of the project.
Motorists are also asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones. As the need applies, flag crews will direct traffic while work is being performed.
This bridge replacement project replaced the existing 200’ structure with a 220’ two-span, steel plate girder bridge. The anticipated project completion is mid-October, 2010. This is a $5.3 million project with work being completed by Francis J. Palo, Inc., of Clarion, Clarion County.
