Punxsutawney, PA (Oct. 25) – Ever imagine what it feels like to sit behind the wheel of a PennDOT plow truck?
Get that feeling for real by attending PennDOT Engineering District 10's Jefferson County Maintenance Office's public "Open House" that will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2005. PennDOT is pleased to invite its customers of all ages inside the doors of the County Office off Route 36 east of Punxsutawney at 205 Witherow Street. A message sign will be placed on Route 36 to help visitors find the office.
The open house will feature an equipment display, an overview of highway maintenance, and a tour of the facility. Digital photos will be taken of visiting children with the equipment, and Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services and Punxsutawney Borough Police will be giving out FREE children's bicycle helmets on a first come first served basis. Light refreshments will be served.
In addition, information and other resources will be available at the open house. Customers can also express their opinions and concerns to county maintenance personnel.
