Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 advises motorists to anticipate changing traffic patterns along Route 22 at the Penn View Summit Construction Project in Burrell and West Wheatfield townships, Indiana County, beginning Wednesday, June 6, 2007.
Over a period of several days, traffic in both directions will be shifted from temporary roads in use since last fall onto the new Route 22 alignment. Eastbound traffic will be shifted first, and then some additional work will be performed on the road before westbound traffic is also shifted.
Traffic will be maintained in both directions during the shift, but minimal delays should be anticipated. Motorists are asked to slow down and exercise caution while traveling through work zones.
After the traffic shifts, work will continue on the $28.1 million Penn View road widening project through October. Prime contractor for the project is New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company Inc. of New Enterprise.
