Indiana, Pa. - PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that construction work on the State Route (SR) 217/SR 3009 (Newport Road) intersection in Burrell Township, Indiana County began June 29, 2009. The anticipated project completion date is August, 2009, and will improve sight distance along SR 217.
Between the dates of Monday, July 13, 2009, and Monday, July 27, 2009, a detour will be in place for SR 3009 (Newport Road). Motorists are asked to follow SR 217 to SR 3004 (Grange Road) to SR 3009 (Newport Road). During the remainder of the construction project time frame, one-lane daylight lane restrictions will be in place.
Motorists are asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through work zones.
This is a $352,159 project with work being performed by Quaker Sales Corporation.
