State Route 2027 Girty Bridge Open in Armstrong County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that the State Route (SR) 2027 (Girty Road) Girty Bridge over Crooked Creek will open to traffic today, September 2, 2010. The bridge is located between SR 2023 (Townsend Road) and T-589 (Sugar Run Road) near the village of Girty in South Bend Township, Armstrong County.
The bridge rehabilitation project included spot painting, substructure rehabilitation, and stream scour protection. The bridge was closed in June and a posted detour was in place. The detour will be lifted today.
This is a $597,795 group project (two structures - Girty Bridge and Elgin Cemetery Bridge) to provide bridge rehabilitation to these structures with work being completed by Gregori Construction of Sarver, Butler County.
