Graffius Avenue to Close in June for Bridge Replacement in Jefferson County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that State Route (SR) 2015 (Graffius Avenue) will close in June to replace the bridge on SR 2015 over Elk Run in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.
Beginning, Monday, June 6, a detour will be in place at SR 2015 (Graffius Avenue) and SR 310 at the bridge over Elk Run. From east of the bridge, traffic will follow SR 310/SR 2015 (Graffius Avenue) south to SR 119 to SR 2015 (Jenks Avenue). From west of the bridge, traffic will use SR 2015 (Jenks Avenue) to SR 119 to SR 310/SR 2015 (Graffius Avenue).
The project is for the replacement of the two-span I-beam bridge with a two-lane, single-span composite steel I-beam bridge over Elk Run in Punxsutawney Borough. Work includes removal of the existing bridge, new bridge abutment and wing wall construction, new bridge superstructure, installation of pavement, sidewalks, guiderail, and signs.
This $776,036 bridge replacement project has been awarded to Francis J. Palo, Inc., of Clarion, and is expected to be completed by mid-October. |
