Indiana, PA (February 21) - In a continuous effort to reduce highway crashes and fatalities, PennDOT Engineering District 10, is partnering with the State Police Motor Carrier Enforcement Division in conducting Truck Crash Prevention Initiative (T.C.P.I.) blitzes.
During a one day enforcement blitz on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 along Routes 286, 553, 119 and 240, Indiana County, four truck safety inspection teams netted the following results:
Commercial Vehicles
Number of commercial vehicles inspected: 14
Vehicle defect citations: 8
Vehicle defect warnings: 31
Number of vehicles placed out-of service (unsafe to operate): 5
Driver citations: 8
Driver warnings: 1
Drivers placed out-of-service: 1
Passenger Vehicle
Speeding citations: 7
Other citations: 2
Written warnings: 4 |
