Traffic Safety Regulatory Check Point to be Conducted
WHAT: Thanksgiving traffic safety enforcement in Blairsville highlights the need for greater seat belt use after dark.
On Monday, November 20, 2006, the Blairsville Police Department will conduct additional traffic safety enforcement to focus attention on the importance of buckling up every time you get into a vehicle, but especially at night. The enforcement is part of a statewide seat belt effort aimed at increasing seat belt use between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The Thanksgiving holiday initiative includes traffic safety checkpoints and roving patrols.
