SR 22 Passing Lane Restrictions in Blairsville

Reminder that State Route 22 Lane Restrictions in Place Today in Indiana County

Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is reminding motorists that lane closures will be in place on State Route (SR) 22 in Burrell Township and Blairsville Borough, Indiana County beginning today.

Beginning today, the passing lane will close on SR 22 Westbound from the on/off ramps of SR 119 to the Westmoreland County line. Tomorrow, Thursday, July 7, the passing lane will close on SR 22 Eastbound.

These closures will be in place until milling and resurfacing is finished in the passing lanes. Once the passing lanes are completed, the travel lanes will be closed for milling and resurfacing. Lane closures are expected to be in place until the Labor Day weekend and the project is expected to be completed by late October.

Work on the project includes milling off old asphalt pavement, repairing existing concrete, placing new asphalt pavement, updating guide rails and signalized intersections. The project also includes the SR 217 ramps. That work is expected to occur in August.

This $2,727,520 resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation project has been awarded to IA Construction Corporation.
