Update on Punxsutawney Borough Traffic Signal Project in Jefferson County

Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is providing an update on the State Route (SR) 119/SR 36 Punxsutawney Borough traffic signal project in Jefferson County.

The schedule below gives approximate locations and closures on SR 119/36 between Front and Gilpin Streets:

Week of Apri1 16 - 20, 2012

April 16-17-18-19: Milling and paving will begin in downtown Punsxutawney. This work will be completed from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to minimize the impacts on motorists. The Punsxutawney Borough Police will be restricting parking in the downtown area. This work is weather permitting.

April 20: New paint lines and turn legends will be placed on all newly paved streets. This work is weather permitting and will be completed during daylight hours.

All of the above work will be conducted under traffic controlled by flaggers.
Motorists are urged to slow down, minimize distractions, and be alert to changing conditions.

This $1,112,458 project includes installation of new traffic signals at the intersections of West Mahoning and South Gilpin Streets, East/West Mahoning and South Findley Streets, East Mahoning and North/South Jefferson Streets, and East Mahoning Street and Hampton Avenue. Work will be completed by Power Contracting Company of Carnegie, Allegheny County.
