Bridge on State Route 1028 Closing for Superstructure Replacement in Armstrong County
Indiana – Motorists will enjoy a new bridge in Boggs Townships, Armstrong County, after the superstructure replacement of the structurally deficient bridge carrying State Route (SR) 1028 (Oscar Road) over the south fork of Pine Creek. The current bridge was built in 1940 and the superstructure replacement will permit the bridge to last at least 50 years.
PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that the bridge carrying SR 1028 (Oscar Road) over the south fork of Pine Creek will close to traffic on Monday, June 18.
The existing structure will be replaced with a simple-span steel, multi-beam bridge over the existing piers.
A posted detour will be in place using SR 1035 (Oscar Road), SR 85, and SR 28/66.
This $643,194 superstructure bridge replacement project is being completed by Francis J. Palo, Inc., of Clarion. The bridge is expected to open to traffic in early September. |
