Bridge on SR 954 to Close for Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Indiana County
Indiana – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that the bridge on State Route (SR) 954 (Fulton Run Road) over Fulton Run will close on Monday, July 16, at 7 am, for a bridge rehabilitation project in Indiana County.
State Route 954 will close in White Township between St. Clair Road, College Lodge Road and Moretti Road and is expected to reopen in early October.
Work on this concrete slab bridge built in 1936 includes a superstructure and deck replacement along with roadway work. The bridge carries an average of 1044 vehicles per day and the preservation project will increase the life of the bridge and keep it from being posted or closed.
A detour will be in place using SR 954 (Fulton Run Road), SR 110, Old Route 119 Hwy, North 4th Street, Philadelphia Street, North 9th Street, and back to SR 954.
Work on this $929,470 bridge rehabilitation project is being completed by R. L. Johnson Construction Corporation of Kittanning, Armstrong County. Two additional structures are part of the rehabilitation project. Work has been completed on the bridge carrying SR 4002 (Creekside Road) over Mitchell Run in Armstrong Township, and a detour is currently in place on the bridge carrying SR 3025 (Park Drive) over Nesbitt Run in Young Township. The project is expected to be completed by early October. |
