	Work to improve two ramps connecting Route 422 (Benjamin Franklin Highway) to Business Route 422 in Shenango Township, Lawrence County, will begin on Monday, July 30. Crews will be concrete patching, applying overlays, updating guide rail and concrete median barrier and performing other improvements on the ramps. To allow work to occur, the following ramps will be closed long-term from approximately 6 a.m. on Monday through early October. Signs will be posted to guide motorists using the following detours: Business Route 422 to westbound Route 422 • Continue west on Business Route 422 • Turn left onto Route 65 south (East Washington Street) • Take ramp from Route 65 to westbound Route 422 • End detour Eastbound Route 422 to Westbound Business Route 422 • Take off ramp to northbound Route 65 • Continue north to Business Route 422 • End detour On Monday, Aug. 6, eastbound Route 422 will be closed for approximately 11 days through Aug. 16 to allow crews to apply a bituminous overlay, upgrade guide rail and perform other improvements between the Route 168 and Business Route 422 interchanges. The on-ramps to eastbound Route 422 from Route 168 and Route 65 will also be closed. Motorists will bypass the closures using the following detours: Eastbound Route 422 • Exit onto Route 168 (Moravia Street) • Make left and follow Route 168 north • Make right onto Grove Street • Turn right on Taylor/Butler Street • Follow to Business Route 422 • Take Business Route 422 east to Route 422 • End detour From Route 65 • Follow to Business Route 422 • Take Business Route 422 east to Route 422 • End detour
	Project Description:
	A $9.4 million project to improve Route 422 (Ben Franklin Highway) in Shenango Township, Lawrence County, will begin on Wednesday, May 2 weather permitting. The project includes patching and bituminous overlay, guide rail and pavement marking updates, drainage upgrades, overhead sign structure replacements and repairs, latex overlay of one structure, minor structure and culvert repairs, and other improvements on 2.58 miles of Route 422 from approximately one mile west of the Route 65 interchange to just west of Hoover Road. The prime contractor for the project is Lindy Paving Inc. of New Castle. Overall work will conclude in early spring 2013.
