SECTION 854 — TEMPORARY SLOPE PIPE DRAIN
854.1 DESCRIPTION —
This work is construction of a temporary slope drainage facility.
854.2 MATERIAL —
Metal End Section — Section 616.2(b)
Pipe (Inlet and Outlet) — Section 601.2(a)4.
Fill Slope Pipe — Plastic, metal, or flexible rubber pipe of acceptable quality
Geotextiles, Class 2, Type B — Section 735
854.3 CONSTRUCTION —
As shown on the Standard Drawings and as follows:
Construct the berms of suitable compacted embankment material, as specified in Section 206.3. Construct the inlet end of channel water into the temporary drain. Use a slope pipe that can easily be moved, with the length varying, as necessary, to reach a suitable discharge area. Place the discharge end so the outlet water does not cause erosion. Place geotextiles, Class 2, Type B, at the discharge end of the pipe; if necessary, use rock, to prevent erosion. Place fabric, as specified, in Section 212.3(c).
Remove and satisfactorily dispose of pipes and end sections when they are no longer required.
