Southbound Route 28 Single Lane Nightly This Week in Millvale

Pittsburgh, PA

PennDOT District 11 is announcing traffic on southbound (inbound) Route 28 in the Borough of Millvale, Allegheny County, will be reduced to a single lane nightly this week, June 18-21 weather permitting.

Crews will continue work to install a message board above southbound Route 28 between the Millvale interchange (Exit 3) and the former Millvale Industrial Park south of the 40th Street Bridge. Lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. One inbound lane will remain open to traffic.

In addition, intermittent stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur on northbound Route 28 in the same area as needed.

Motorists are advised to use caution and allow extra time when traveling on Route 28.

The work is part of the $23.5 million Route 28/40th Street Interchange Improvement Project. The Trumbull Corporation of Pittsburgh is the prime contractor. Overall work will conclude this summer.
