PennDOT District 11 is announcing work on a $7.7 million project to improve Route 366 (Bull Creek Road) in Tarentum Borough, Allegheny County, will begin weather permitting on Monday, June 11.
The project includes removing the existing asphalt overlay and placing a new stone matrix asphalt overlay on the Tarentum Bridge. Other bridge work includes gusset plate and downspout repairs and spot painting. Roadway improvements include full depth concrete reconstruction, drainage, concrete curb ramps and mountable curb, sidewalks, guide rail upgrades, side road adjustments or reconstruction, signing and other enhancements on about 1.6 miles of Route 366 from the New Kensington side of the Tarentum Bridge to Route 1034 (two lane section of Bull Creek Road) west of the Route 28 interchange in Fawn Township.
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, traffic will be reduced to a single, 10-foot wide lane in each direction in the work zone around-the-clock through late October.
The prime contractor is Golden Triangle Construction Company, Inc. of Imperial, PA. Overall work will conclude in late November.
Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays and changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.
