|PennDOT District 11 is announcing a westbound lane closure on Butler Street (Route 8) at One Wild Place in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Monday, July 14, weather permitting. |
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 14 the westbound (inbound) right hand lane on Butler Street will be closed to traffic until 3 p.m. as crews conduct utility location excavation. The current left hand turn lane will be used by all westbound traffic. Motorists will be able to continue westbound on Butler Street or turn onto One Wild Place. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.
Additionally, single-lane alternating traffic will occur on Baker Street from 8 p.m. Monday night through 5 a.m. Tuesday morning as crews conduct conduit installation.
The work is part of the Route 8 Heths Run Bridge replacement project. The existing bridge built in 1913-14 will be replaced with a new structure. A temporary roadway through the Pittsburgh Zoo parking lot will be implemented for cars and light trucks. Additionally, the project includes reconstruction of 870 feet of Butler Street, improvements on One Wild Place, drainage, and sidewalk and signal upgrades.
