PennDOT District 11 is advising motorists lane closures will occur on the inbound (southbound) Parkway North (I-279) between I-79 and the Bellevue West View Interchange (Exit 7/Old Exit 14) in Allegheny County this weekend, Oct. 23-25 (weather permitting).
Lane closures (single lane traffic) will occur according to the following schedule:
Southbound (inbound)
• Single lane closure (one lane open) from 10 a.m. on Friday (note: early start time) to 11 a.m. on Sunday; concrete patching will occur.
Northbound (outbound)
• No restrictions scheduled.
PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns and delays when traveling through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility. PennDOT also reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.
The $17.4 million 2009 Phase II project includes concrete pavement patching and bituminous overlay (resurfacing), drainage and guide rail upgrades, paved shoulders, washout and slide repair, and other improvements on about 6.07 miles of the Parkway North. The project also includes deck joint, concrete substructure and concrete deck repairs on 10 bridge structures. Various lane closures, traffic shifts and ramp closures will occur during the project through December 2009. Visit www.penndot11.com for more information on the project. |
